Jacob Swihura,

Program Development

Jacob is a dedicated therapist who recently graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University’s Master of Social Work program and is actively working toward his Licensed Clinical Social Worker credential. He brings over seven years of experience serving children and families in Southwest Florida’s school and court systems, where he worked as an Intensive Case Manager providing counseling, mentoring, and family solutions. His career has also included work at White Sands, an in-patient addiction facility, where he collaborated with therapists to support individuals through the challenges of recovery. Most recently, Jacob completed a year at the Department of Veterans Affairs, first assisting veterans in homelessness programs and later providing therapeutic support in primary care and mental health services, working with trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationship struggles.

Jacob’s passion lies in helping individuals relieve the symptoms of depression, anxiety, and addictive tendencies through a solutions-focused, client-centered approach. He believes in building a professional and compassionate relationship with clients that empowers them to reconnect with themselves and others. Using cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness practices, and empathetic listening, Jacob helps his clients find ease in their thoughts, balance in their day-to-day lives, and direction in their personal goals.

In addition to his clinical work, Jacob has developed specialized skills in assertiveness training, budgeting workshops, reassessing values, and goal-setting. He strives to equip individuals and families with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges, strengthen their connections, and take accountability for their own growth. His goal is to provide clients with strategies and resources that honor their unique stories while helping them discover solutions to what’s holding them back.

Jacob approaches every client with respect, authenticity, and hope by offering a safe and supportive space to foster growth, resilience, and healing. He is committed to walking alongside his clients as they work toward creating meaningful change and a life worth living.
